An article that is peer-reviewed is found in a scholarly journal. These are articles that scholars submit for publication, and they get approved by a panel of other scholars (i.e., his or her peers). This is why the articles are called peer reviewed. Peer-reviewed articles in scholarly journals are considered the best quality resources to use when doing academic research. They contain the most current research being done on that subject.
Most of the research databases in Keiss Library include scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles. For example, in the research database Academic Search Ultimate, you can check a box, and you will then only see peer-reviewed articles.
You can access this database by going to the Keiss library's homepage, click on E-Resources, then A-Z Databases. Find the database Academic Search Ultimate in the alphabetical list. Enter your search term for your topic in a search box and click search. On the next screen, in the left column, you will see a box that says Peer-Reviewed. When you click this box, you will only see peer-reviewed articles in your list.
Here is the Academic Search Ultimate Guide and the Academic Search Ultimate Video Tutorial for help accessing and searching this database. To find information on other Keiss Library Databases, please visit the Database Guides page.
