Here is how to get the Document URL (which is the permalink in the ProQuest Dissertations and Theses database):
1) Looking at a dissertation in the list of search results, click on Abstract/Details under the title
2) Scroll down until you see Document URL near the bottom of the citation page
3) This Document URL can be highlighted, copied and pasted into your internet browser and it should function as a permanent link to this dissertation.
4) Test the Document URL by pasting it into your browser and checking that it takes you directly to the dissertation.
