To find primary sources on your topic a good place to start is the Library's American History Research Guide.
To access this guide go to the Library's homepage at gmercyu.edu/library and click on Research Guides (under the pull-down menu Research Help). Then select American History from the list. Once you are in the American History Research Guide you will see a tab labeled Primary Sources. Here you will find some resources that may be helpful such as the Library of Congress site and the National Archives and Records Administration site. They are both government sites.
For secondary sources on your subject, click on the Find Articles tab in the American History Research Guide. Here you will see a list of research databases available from the library that contain many secondary sources such journal and magazine articles.
You may also wish to look for books in the Library on your topic, which may contain either primary or secondary sources. Click on the Find Books tab in the Research Guide and enter your topic in the center box. Click search and you will be taken into the Library's catalog where you can see books and other materials available in the Library.
